1. Personal connection
Your psychologist takes the time to listen, get to know your family and build a relationship with you and your child. As a parent you should feel heard, understood and supported.
Prior to working for Chology, our psychologists must demonstrate their ability to develop warm, empathetic connections with children and parents. In other words, our people really care about helping your family!
2. Comprehensive testing
Many clinicians fail to gather adequate information to make accurate conclusions and diagnoses. Proper child assessment requires that the right tests, observations and interviews have been conducted to find out what is really going on for your child and how to best help him or her.
Do not gamble on “quick and dirty” options when it comes to your child’s wellbeing. If you are unsure of the tests you need for your child, get in touch with us to find out.
3. Report & feedback
Psychological reports are often full of jargon and clinical terminology that are unhelpful to you as a parent. It is not uncommon for parents to leave other assessment services feeling more confused than when they started!
A great psychological report clearly articulates what is going on for your child in lay terms. You should leave the feedback session feeling informed, educated and empowered to make change.
We recommend that you ask service providers for a sample report before making your final decision. This document is a crucial part of the service.
